Rep. Michele Bachmann and Newt Gingrich – both potential 2012 GOP presidential contenders and Tea Party favorites – used Facebook to blast President Obama on the April jobs numbers,
Politico reports. According to the report, the U.S. economy added 244,000 jobs last month. However, unemployment rose for the first time since November to 9 percent, from 8.8 percent in March.
"While any job creation is good news, the mixed results of today's jobs report is further proof that America needs a profound change of course in its economic policies," Gingrich said on his Facebook page. "We are still far off from where we need to be in job creation. America can't wait any longer."
"With unemployment increasing yet again to 9% last month," Bachmann said on Facebook, "Americans are growing tired of the consequences of the Obama economic agenda."
