Huntsman: Romney 'Unelectable'
Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman said rival Mitt Romney would be “unelectable” running against President Obama due to his vacillation on key issues like abortion, gun rights, and healthcare, reports
The Hill.
“I think that what the American people want today, more than anything else, is a level of consistency,” Huntsman said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “They want trust. They want a level of trust in their elected officials.”
“There is an issue on the flip-flops as it relates to trust. I don’t know that he can go on to beat President Obama given his record,” he said. “I mean, when there is a question about whether you’re running for the White House or running for the Waffle House, you’ve got a real problem with the American people.”
Huntsman went on to say that he would still support Romney if he became the Republican nominee.
