Rick Perry Releases New Campaign Ad
Texas Gov. Rick Perry has released his latest campaign ad in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, reports CBS News
The 30-second spot entitled “Lazy,” lambasts President Obama for his comment that Americans have "been a little bit lazy I think over the last couple of decades."
Perry appears next with his response: “"Can you believe that? That's what our President thinks is wrong with America? That Americans are lazy? That's pathetic."
In the ad Perry also calls for a Balanced Budget amendment and complains that President Obama’s “socialist” policies are “bankrupting America.”
The Perry campaign says the 30-second spot is airing on national cable and on broadcast television in Iowa; CBS News reports it aired on Fox News Wednesday afternoon.Perry now polls in the single digits in national polls, though his campaign funds mean he can spend millions of dollars in advertising in an effort to improve his standing before voters head to the polls. The Perry campaign is becoming increasingly focused on the first-in-the-nation state Iowa, in hopes a good showing will provide much-needed momentum.
