Indiana Senate Race Challenger Earns FreedomWorks’ Support
GOP challenger for the Indiana Senate seat, Richard Mourdock will soon pick up the endorsement of the low-tax, small-government organization FreedomWorks,
Politico reports.
FreedomWorks will officially confirm its endorsement of Mourdock’s campaign on Friday, Oct. 21. The organization’s choice of Mourdock over six-term incumbent Dick Lugar comes as no surprise. The Indiana Senator has been in hot water with far-right conservatives for his support of TARP, START, and Supreme Court judges Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor.
The endorsement will come about a month after Mourdock earned the support of the Tea Party Express. FreedomWorks expressed interest in choosing sides in the senate race early on and Mourdock will be the fifth Senate candidate to earn FreedomWorks’ seal of approval.
