Palin Likely to Skip Own Deadline on Decision
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin at one point set a deadline of Sept. 30 for a decision as to whether she’ll enter the presidential race. But she doesn’t appear ready to make the final call yet,
The Hill reports.
Becky Beach, Palin’s top fundraiser in Iowa and a close friend who usually is informed about her plans, told the news service that she hasn’t heard from Palin in weeks about her decision.
“I don’t have any idea of her decision or her timing. The only thing I’ve heard her say is that the legal deadlines are the real deadlines, and I share her sentiment,” Beach said.
Oct. 15 is the deadline to be placed on the Utah primary ballot, and the deadline is Oct. 31 for many other states. Gathering petition signatures and preparing the paperwork to get on the ballot can take weeks in some states.
