Romney Says He’d Pick Someone Like Cheney for VP
Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney said he would choose “a person of wisdom and judgment” as his vice presidential candidate such as former Vice President Dick Cheney, reports
The Hill.
“Whether you agree or disagree with him, this is a man of wisdom and judgment, and he could have been president of the United States," the former governor of Massachusetts said.
During an Arizona campaign event Wednesday afternoon Romney praised Cheney and said “that’s the kind of person I’d like to have” on his own ticket.
Despite his pointed praise for Cheney, Romney did not rule out naming a “tea party person” to the ticket when asked. "I will pick someone who could be president," he said.
